The 27-year-old left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant opened his account with a massive six down the ground on the first ball he faced when he stepped out to bat at No. 5 for India in the second innings of the ongoing fifth Test match against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground.
In a short period of time, the footage of Pant hitting a first-ball six off of Scott Boland’s bowling became viral online.

Pants are off. Boland was the second Indian batter to knock a six off the opening ball of an innings in an away Test, and the seventh in Test history overall.
In the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Pant has fallen short of expectations despite scoring 40 runs from 98 balls in the first innings. However, he would like to score a lot of runs in the final innings of the tour and help India set a huge target that the Baggy Greens will have to chase down in the fourth innings of the game.
Rishabh Pant scored 61 runs off just 32 balls which includes 6 fours and 4 Sixes before he went out cheaply against Pat Cummins bowling off the stump.
