Tanush Kotian, Mumbai’s offspinning all-rounder, will join the Indian men’s side in Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The move follows Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement from international cricket at the end of the third Test in Brisbane.

The 26-year-old Tanush Kotian, who is currently with the Mumbai team in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, is scheduled to join the squad in Melbourne ahead of the third Test. Tanush Kotian , who is now in Ahmedabad, will go back to Mumbai and then take a flight to Melbourne on Tuesday. He is unlikely to face a visa issue because he just played for India A in a tour of Australia.

Tanush Kotian has played 33 first-class matches, amassing 1525 runs at an average of 41.21 and taking 101 wickets at an average of 25.70. He was named Player of the Tournament in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy-winning campaign of 2023-24, where he scored 502 runs at an average of 41.83 and took 29 wickets at 16.96.
