IPL 2025 Schedule
Cricket fans are gearing up for another thrilling chapter in the IPL saga, scheduled to start on March 22, 2025: the 18th edition of the world’s richest T20 franchise league. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has completed the schedule that promises a thrilling two months of intoxicating cricket ending with the grand finale on May 25, 2025. In 2025, ten teams play 74 matches, retaining the same format the last three years before their anticipated uptick to 84 matches in 2026 and 2027 editions. Fans across India and around the world await the action, with the fixtures representing a mélange of tradition, rivalries, and targeting to meet maximized interests.
The tournament will start off with the opening match between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to set the stage for the season: last year’s champions, who clinched the third title in 2024 under captain Shreyas Iyer, face an RCB outfit that is fresh under the stewardship of a new skipper, Rajat Patidar.
There are hopes hiked up by KKR’s win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final. The enthusiastic crowd from KKR’s home ground, Eden Gardens, is going to add even more intensity to this encounter. The second match will take place on March 23, with Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. It’s a day fixture that places the SRH boys, who finished runners-up in 2024, under the ultimate challenge against an RR side strengthened by the acquisition of 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi-the youngest player in IPL history to be sold.
The TATA IPL 2025 is sure to be an action-packed season, played across different venues in India. The 10 teams will be playing round-robin, leading into playoff games where cricket will be played at its highest energy. The IPL 2025 will take place from March to May, in parallel with the PS^L 2025, just like in 2024.
The championship will start on March 22nd, 2025, and finish on May 25th, 2025, with the current defending champions starting the season.
