KKR Released New Ticket Prices Ahead Of IPL 2025

After a heavy backlash from fans All Over India, Kolkata Knight Riders and Cricket Association Of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly, decided to reduce the Ticket Prices of the match tickets ahead of IPL 2025 The effect will be seen for all the non marquee matches to be held in Eden Gardens.

Prices for KKR home games reportedly ranged from INR 900 to INR 15,000, a significant jump from previous seasons. In 2024, tickets had been available at more affordable rates, with options starting as low as INR 750 and additional brackets around INR 1,000, catering to a broader spectrum of fans. This year, however, the lowest tier at INR 900 was followed by a sharp escalation to INR 2,000, INR 3,500, and beyond, leaving little middle ground for the common fan.

The non-marquee pricing structure is quite broader, with more blocks like G, H, J, K, and L also made available alongside their lower-tier counterparts (G1, H1, K1, L1). KKR believes it would gather massive attendance in all its matches this season, which is fueled by its success last year and the desire to retain the title at home.

In all of the nine home games set to take place this season, the non-marquee matches may include clashes against Punjab Kings on April 26, Gujarat Titans on April 21, or even Lucknow Super Giants on April 6; these games are not hyped up like a RCB or CSK face-off, but expect competitive cricket and the chance to watch players like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in action. The expectation is that the ticket sale will also follow the IPL norm, with BookMyShow serving as the prime online platform to purchase the tickets.

The process will probably include choosing the match, deciding on a block as per these newly released prices, and completing the purchase-simple though the demand might quickly rise as KKR is already at the peak of its popularity now. Offline options, like counters at Eden Gardens or certain retails, may also open closer to match days; still, online booking is mostly a favorite for convenient purchases. Even the non-marquee games saw brisk sales last season; this time around, the starting price is only ₹900 and KKR hopes for packed stands to retain its home advantage.

This is more clear pricing, as the franchise is going through a transition. After retaining key players in Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, and Vaibhav Arora before the mega auction in October 31, 2024, the KKR let go their 2024 title-winning captain Shreyas Iyer, giving the captaincy to Rahane now.

With the change of guard and their fan-engagement initiative-a mock auction-they hoped to keep the Kolkata faithful involved. For non-marquee matches, unsold ticket prices could perhaps be an answer to sustain the atmosphere that Eden Gardens is known for, especially ₹900 and ₹1,500 tiers, which, one may add, could do wonders in a matchup where the opponent may not have the cachet of bigger franchises. KKR’s non-marquee ticket prices are meant to strike a good balance as IPL season 2025 approaches.

They are meant for the city that is passionate about cricket-a student and family brigade filling the G1 and H1 stands to the wealthy luminaries in the Club House and B Premium sections. While the focus will surely be on marquee matches, these rates will ensure purple pride is celebrated continuously in every home match, and the chants of “Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo” will go up regardless of the opponents.
