South Africa Squad For Champions Trophy 2025 Announced
Temba Bavuma will captain the South African side at the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 as they aim surely to continue in world cricket some great of late gestures.
The team can also rely on the pace duo of Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi because, as runner-up in the recent Men’s T20 World Cup and a finalist in the forthcoming World Test Championship, the group is bolstered by the return of these pace spearheads.
For Nortje, the tournament will mark his return to ODI cricket after playing his last match in September 2023. Barring a stress fracture of the back that sidetracked him for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and South Africa’s home summer, the pacer recently made a return.

Also coming back is fellow pace bowler Lungi Ngidi, who last played for South Africa in October 2024 owing to a groin injury.
South Africa have largely stuck with the core group that blasted them into the semi-finals of the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, primarily keeping 10 of the 15 players intact for the Champions Trophy.
New entrants into the team will be Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Wiaan Mulder, all of whom will be making their ICC 50-over debut. Nortje, who missed the 2023 World Cup, is the other big inclusion.
