Here is all you need to see from Vijay Hazare Trophy- Day 1 Highlights

Arunachal Pradesh Vs Punjab

Anmolpreet Singh scored the fastest List A ton by an Indian, reaching the milestone in just 35 balls to lead Punjab to a nine-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh. Chasing an underpar target of 165, Anmolpreet hit 115* off just 45 balls to help Punjab win in 12.5 overs. The typically aggressive Prabhsimran Singh (35* off 25) played second fiddle to Anmolpreet as Arunachal’s bowlers were hammered. The victory, however, was set up by Punjab’s bowlers, particularly the new-ball combo of Baltej Singh (2-26) and Ashwani Kumar (3-37). Arunachal could never recover from the early blows, but the middle order provided some resistance.

Vijay Hazare Trophy-Day 1 Highlights

Bihar Vs Madhya Pradesh

Harsh Gawli (83* off 63) produced a fiery innings while Rajat Patidar’s (55* off 33) cracking form continued as Madhya Pradesh brushed Bihar aside by six wickets. The modest target of 197 was chased down with almost half the overs left, giving MP a huge boost to their net run rate as well. Gawli and Patidar were ultra-aggressive from the get-go and didn’t let the Bihar bowlers to settle at all. The job, though, was done by MP’s bowlers who put on a collective performance to restrict Bihar to 196. Avesh Khan (3-21) was the pick of the bowlers and he set the tone early for Madhya Pradesh’s bowling unit. Aryan Pandey (2-33) and Kulwant Khejroliya (2-40) gave good support as Bihar’s batters folded with only Bipin Saurabh (50) and S Gani (48) offering some fight.

Haryana Vs Gujarat

Urvil Patel’s remarkable performance in white-ball cricket persisted as he built on his several centuries in the SMAT Trophy with another hundred in the Vijay Hazare Trophy opener. The opener’s 91-ball 115* dazzled as Gujarat defeated Haryana by six wickets with 82 balls remaining. Vishal Jayswal (65* off 39) also hit the bowlers hard as the duo contributed 93* for the third wicket to secure the victory. The initial fireworks came from Patel, who partnered with Aarya Desai (57 off 62) to create a 147-run opening partnership.

Previously, Haryana reached 260 due to Nishant Sindhu’s solid innings of 88 runs off 89 balls that anchored the team’s performance. Sumit Kumar (55 runs from 73 balls) and Harshal Patel (21 not out off 11) provided a late surge to the innings, yet the bowlers from Gujarat were generally accurate with their deliveries. Arzan Nagwaswalla (4-56) was the standout bowler, and his spell with the new ball restricted Haryana in favorable bowling conditions.

Andhra Pradesh Vs Railways

Ashwin Hebbar’s splendid 132 laid the foundation for Andhra’s dominant 91-run victory against Railways. The opener’s innings was succeeded by a precise bowling display led by Bodhala Kumar (4-45) and KV Sasikanth (3-47) as Railways vanished without a trace. Wicket-keeper batsman Upendra Yadav (64 off 69) struggled valiantly but received no backing from the remaining middle order. Suraj Ahuja (40) and Mohammad Saif (46) had promising beginnings but failed to build on them.

Mumbai Vs Karnataka

A brilliant century by Krishnan Shrijith (150* off 101) enabled Karnataka to chase down a massive target of 383 against Mumbai, securing a victory by seven wickets with 20 balls remaining. Shrijith received solid backing from Praveen Dubey (65* off 50) as they formed an unbeaten partnership of 183 in only 119 balls to guide Karnataka successfully. The initial foundation for the chase was established by KV Aneesh’s swift 66-ball 82, while Mayank Agarwal (47 off 48) also provided a rapid start.

Karnataka’s pursuit was effortless and ridiculed what had previously been an impressive batting display from Mumbai. Captain Shreyas Iyer showcased his exceptional hitting skills, smashing 114* off only 55 balls, including 10 sixes, to secure a fantastic finish for Mumbai. Hardik Tamore (84 runs from 94 balls) and Ayush Mhatre (78 runs from 82 balls) excelled at the beginning of the innings, and their collaboration enabled Shreyas to unleash his fireworks towards the end. Shivam Dube (63* off 36) went on a rampage to elevate Mumbai beyond the 375-run threshold, yet it ultimately fell short for a victory.

Bengal Vs Delhi

Abishek Porel (170* off 130) showcased his skills by carrying his bat, leading Bengal to a convincing six-wicket victory over Delhi. Porel’s dazzling performance secure Bengal’s victory while pursuing a competitive target of 273, accomplishing it in just the 42nd over. The remaining Bengal batters skillfully played supporting roles to the left-handed player, who hit 18 fours and seven sixes in his explosive knock. It signified a perfect pursuit for Bengal since Delhi’s bowlers failed to maintain consistent pressure.

Previously, Delhi reached 272 with fifties from Anuj Rawat (79) and Himmat Singh (60) after struggling from 106-2 to 127-5 in the middle overs. The pair’s 101-run partnership rejuvenated the innings, but the middle-order collapse likely cost Delhi around 30-40 runs of what might have been a competitive score on this surface.

Puducherry Vs Saurashtra

Veteran Arun Karthik (73* from 55) and Aman Hakim Khan (46* off 28) united to lead Puducherry to a dramatic five-wicket victory over Saurashtra. Pursuing 286. Puducherry reached their target in the 49th over due to the Karthik-Khan collaboration. It was a team batting effort during the chase, with three other players scoring in the 40s, all at a brisk pace, to make sure Puducherry remained competitive. They experienced a slight hiccup, dropping from 111/1 to 121/4, but the middle order stepped up to complete the task. Saurashtra’s strong bowling unit failed to build pressure, with even Jaydev Unadkat conceding runs.

Earlier, fifties from Arpit Vasavada (62), Sheldon Jackson (71), and Chirag Jani (69*) set the foundation for Saurashtra’s score of 285. The surface proved challenging at first, but later transformed into a batting-friendly pitch, and ultimately, the target fell short against Puducherry.

Maharashtra Vs Rajasthan

Ankit Bawne (74* off 95) and Nikhil Naik (46 off 56) were the key performers as Maharashtra secured a dramatic three-wicket victory over Rajasthan. Pursuing a goal of 216 on a challenging pitch, Maharashtra was reduced to 89/5 due to Aniketh Choudhary (4-49), who delivered an excellent new-ball spell. Bawne and Naik contributed 88 runs for the sixth wicket, setting Maharashtra on the right path, with the former remaining at the crease until the conclusion to guide the team home. Their efforts followed a magnificent century from Kartik Sharma (123 off 90) who, despite wickets tumbling around him, carried Rajasthan to a commendable total. The wicket-keeper hit 11 sixes during his innings while he battled on his own. Rajneesh Gurbani (4-35) was the leading bowler for Maharashtra while the other bowlers contributed as well.

Goa Vs Odisha

Suyash Prabhudesai (74* off 22) continued his strong form in limited-overs cricket, playing a key role in Goa’s 27-run victory against Odisha in a high-scoring match. Prabhudesai’s striking appearance helped Goa reach an impressive total of 371, which barely turned out to be sufficient as Odisha replied with 344. Prabhudesai’s performance was remarkable after Goa’s first four players had established a solid foundation, with three of them reaching fifties. Ishaan Gadekar (93), Snehal Kauthankar (67), and Darshan Misal (79 off 56) all started well, punishing Odisha’s bowlers. It was Prabhudesai’s last move that ultimately turned out to be the pivotal moment.

Odisha’s leading three scored fifties, keeping the chase very much alive. Nevertheless, losing wickets consistently affected them, and the pressure from the scoreboard ultimately took its toll. Aasirwad Swain (53 runs off 31 balls) delivered some late hits to reduce the loss margin, but the match was essentially decided long before
